Eska

 By Bruce Shawkey

Eska was founded in 1918 by Silvan Kocher senior and his son Erwin. Their workshop S. Kocher & Co was built in his home village of Selzach which is in the German part of Switzerland. The name is a phonetic abbreviation of Silvan Kocher ES & KA.  They produced many beautiful watches from the  1940s through the '60s, including some with cloisonné dials:

It appears Eska went out of business in the 1980s, another victim of the Quartz Crisis.
