The Arctos Horometer

 By Bruce Shawkey

Interesting article in a 1958 issue of Europa Star magazine:

Arctos Watch Co. Ltd.. the firm of Philipp Weber K.G. Pforzheim, Germany, has developed a watch, the Arctos Horometer that is a marvel of science and ingenuity, as it enables users to see immediately the time all over the world. The dial is divided into the zones of the world to which correspond a letter. The watch is set to a particular zone (for instance zone N for Geneva). The dial then shows the corresponding time in all the other zones so that a rapid glance will suffice to see the Time in Melbourne (zone W). in Rio de Janeiro (zone J) and anywhere else. The Arctos Horometer is available as a self-winding Incabloc 22-jewel wristwatch and as an 8-day desk clock. With an Arctos Horometer you have world time at a touch.
